Junior Lawyers Division

The JLD represent the interests of junior lawyers across Holborn and Westminster. The group aims to represent all law students, trainee solicitors, pupils, and qualified solicitors and barristers up to 5 years PQE.

The JLD are dedicated to creating a network of these junior lawyers within WHLS to provide a wide range of educational and social benefits.

Sarah Bradd

Chair of Junior Lawyers Division

Sarah is a trainee solicitor at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP and has been a member of CWHLS since 2019. She has been the editor in chief of the Central London Lawyer magazine and is a member of the editorial team and JLD. In her free time, Sarah enjoys going on holiday to explore new places, eating at restaurants and is a keen cinema fan. Tayla Baird

Committee Member

Tayla Baird is a Solicitor at Ellis Jones Solicitors LLP, based in the firm’s London office. Before her current role, Tayla was a paralegal at Howard Kennedy working within their real estate team. She studied Law (LLB) at Oxford Brookes University and completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC/LLM) at the University of Law Moorgate in 2020.

Grace Makungu

Committee Member

Grace is a Trainee Solicitor. She is currently sitting in her final seat in and is due to qualify in August 2025. Prior to her training, Grace has had extensive legal experience across several City law firms in a number of practice areas.

Anita Winsome

Committee Member

Anita completed her LLM specialising in Comparative & International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London. She is a recipient of the SEED (Student Enhanced Engagement & Development) Award 2023 from the Humanities & Social Sciences department, QMUL. Her interests include domestic & international arbitration, competition law & intellectual property rights. She is a qualified lawyer in India and a licensed member (Advocate) of the Bar Council. Her favourite pastime activities include discovering beautiful cafes, exploring museums, and strolling around the royal parks near South Kensington.

Jessica Farnsworth

Committee Member

Recently graduated with a master’s in law following her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Durham University.

Currently working as a Paralegal/ Document Reviewer and working towards progressing her legal career to qualify as a solicitor. A member of WHLS for three years, a member of the Junior Lawyers Division, and co-chair of the publicity and social media committee.  In her free time, she enjoys volunteering and exploring different areas of London!

Saqlain Aziz

University and Colleges Representative

Saqlain is a law student and aspiring commercial law solicitor. He previously volunteered for the legal clinic in his third year of University and served as the President of their Law Society. Saqlain is proud to have served as an ambassador for the Commercial Law Academy. He looks forward to his role as the University and Colleges Representative of WHLS JLD.
