Main Committee

Suzanna Eames

President

Suzanna’s experience as a qualified barrister has given her a strong knowledge of family law. She has worked on a broad range of private family law matters, including divorce, financial issues following a relationship breakdown, disputes relating to children, financial claims to support a child, international jurisdictional disputes and pre-nuptial agreements.

Before joining Farrer & Co, Suzanna trained as a barrister and completed her pupillage at a Tier 1 specialist family chambers. Prior to that, she studied Law at Downing College, Cambridge and went on to study the BPTC at BPP Law School.

Amanda Lathia

Vice President

Senior Associate in Company/Commercial Law at Orr Litchfield. Vice President of Westminster & Holborn Law Society.  I have worked with client SMEs, large corporations, sole traders and partnerships advising on all aspects of commercial and corporate law including bespoke terms and conditions for supply of goods and/or services; reviewing warranties and indemnities for acquisitions; migration to a new business structure, such as a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) and cross border mergers.

I trained with a South West London firm and qualified as a commercial & corporate solicitor in September 2018. I have also worked for a disability charity which I returned to during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aneesha Bhunjun

Deputy Vice President

I am dual qualified as a Barrister and Practicing Solicitor, mediator and trainer. My breadth of experience and capabilities allows me to manage various intricate details of casework and to offer a wide understanding of any issue. I am frequently invited to discuss topical legal issues and developments.

I recently spoke at the University of Hertfordshire in conjunction with Amnesty International and Anti-Slavery International on my experience with legal matters involving human trafficking. I have extensive experience with dealing with forced marriages, a topic I discussed on BBC Radio 2, also appearing on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Three Counties to discuss changes in legislation.

I have been trained in face to face and online Dispute Resolution. In these roles I have travelled around the UK and to Mauritius, India and Europe to deliver trainings, mediate and attend world mediation forums.

Lucy Clarke

Co-Secretary

Lucy is currently a Solicitor in the Clinical Negligence team. Lucy joined JMW in September 2023 as a Trainee Solicitor in Real Estate Finance in the London office.

Prior to this, Lucy graduated from the University of Warwick in July 2022 with a 2.1 in Law LLB.  Lucy completed the LPC with a Distinction at BPP University in July 2023.

Noaman Malik

Co-Secretary

Noaman read History at the University of Glasgow with a year abroad at the University of Alabama, before completing the PGDL and an LLM in Legal Practice (SQE) at the University of Law. During his studies he gained experience as a paralegal for an UHNW client on a complex civil action worth $2bn, and completed a vacation scheme at Farrer & Co.

Anita Winsome

Editor in Chief London Lawyer

Anita completed her LLM specialising in Comparative & International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London. She is a recipient of the SEED (Student Enhanced Engagement & Development) Award 2023 from the Humanities & Social Sciences department, QMUL. Her interests include domestic & international arbitration, competition law & intellectual property rights. She is a qualified lawyer in India and a licensed member (Advocate) of the Bar Council. Her favourite pastime activities include discovering beautiful cafes, exploring museums, and strolling around the royal parks near South Kensington.

Nicola Wainwright

Immediate Past President

Nicola is a specialist clinical negligence solicitor with more than 20 years’ experience. She is a Partner and Head of Clinical Negligence at JMW Solicitors. Nicola specialises in clinical negligence claims for patients arising from medical treatment that has gone wrong, or from a failure to provide medical treatment. Nicola has been ranked in Chambers & Partners legal directory for 14 years and has been described as a ‘highly experienced lawyer who achieves great results’ for clients. Nicola qualified as a solicitor in 1997 after training with Pictons.

She specialised in personal injury and clinical negligence at Davies & Partners, Birmingham before joining Leigh Day in 2000, Nicola is a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation Panel and an Association of Personal Injury (APIL) Senior Litigator. Nicola sits on the Westminster & Holborn Law Society CSR and Pro-Bono Committee. She is also a member of FOCIS (Forum of Complex Injury Solicitors), and the Association of Women Solicitors, London (AWSL).

Linda Felton

Treasurer

Linda Felton is a Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration with Fortune Green Legal Practice Limited. They have 17 years’ experience in the areas of Regulations, Consumer, Notary, Commercial Property, Housing & Property working as a solicitor.

Tanya Arackal

Vice Treasurer

Tanya has worked on cases across the full spectrum of family law including matrimonial finances, divorce, domestic abuse, international child abduction, private and public children law. She has undertaken her own advocacy in the London County Courts, successfully obtaining non-molestation orders for vulnerable clients. Additionally she is the Vice-Treasurer of the Westminster & Holborn Law Society, a member of the YRes division of Resolution and she is a mentor with Lawyers Who Care, mentoring care-experienced aspiring lawyers.

She also created and leads the Aura Collective, a non-profit organisation that supports, through creative workshops, individuals who have experienced violence and abuse.

James Catchpole

Education and Training: Chair

James is Associate Professor and Director of Executive Education and Professional Engagement at The City Law School, City, University of London. A qualified solicitor with over two decades of leadership in professional and vocational legal education, he has directed flagship programmes including the Legal Practice Course, its SQE successor, and the Bar Vocational Studies. His work has shaped the School’s response to evolving regulatory frameworks, and he currently leads strategic engagement with both regulators and the legal profession.

A committed advocate for social mobility and the expansion of apprenticeship pathways into the legal sector. He has served as an external adviser and panel member for universities across the UK and internationally, supporting the development and validation of postgraduate and professional programmes. His contributions also include external examining roles for multiple institutions and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives

Marta Sanchez Merino

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Chair

Marta has extensive experience advising multinational companies on cross-border corporate, commercial, and insolvency matters. My unique vision comes from navigating two distinct legal systems, allowing me to anticipate challenges, bridge legal gaps, and craft strategic solutions that ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and strategic growth.

Coral Hill

International: Co-Chair

Coral Hill, is the Founder of Legalwomen.org.uk, a Non-Executive Director of Nelson College London and regular public speaker on gender parity. She is a Past President of WHLS (2018); Past Chair of the Association of Women Solicitors London (2015); Current member of the CMC for The Law Society of England and Wales and of the Equality Committee of the Fédération des Barreaux d’Europe.

Alex Kowalska

International: Co-Chair

Alex is a dual-qualified lawyer, Legal Counsel at a London based charity, lecturer, trainer, and founder of a professional development consultancy for international lawyers. With 20 years of experience in the legal sector, her work includes cross-border matters, charity work and business development.

She is a speaker at legal events, a regular contributor to legal magazines, and works with bar associations and universities. She was listed as one of the Top Women Lawyers in Poland by Forbes Women. She is also actively involved in educational initiatives for lawyers and students and is a member of the International and Human Rights Committee for the Pomeranian Bar Association.

Sarah Bradd

Junior Lawyers Division: Chair

Sarah is a trainee solicitor at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP and has been a member of CWHLS since 2019. She has been the editor in chief of the Central London Lawyer magazine and is a member of the editorial team and JLD. In her free time, Sarah enjoys going on holiday to explore new places, eating at restaurants and is a keen cinema fan. Katarzyna Jurkun

CSR & Pro Bono: Co Chair

Katarzyna Jurkun is a Partner at Freemans Solicitors specialising in UK immigration law, with a strong focus on access to justice for vulnerable individuals. She is a Level 2 Senior Caseworker and Supervisor under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme (IAAS) and an experienced advocate, regularly representing clients before the First-tier Tribunal. She also conducts  civil claims against the Home Office for unlawful detention, securing damages for those affected.

She is deeply committed to pro bono work and community engagement. Katarzyna is a co-founder of Families – Helping Poles in Need, a non-profit organisation  supporting  Polish community in the UK, and a founder of the British Polish Lawyers Forum (BPLF), which promotes collaboration and support among Polish legal professionals. She has been  recognised as a Recommended Lawyer in the 2025 edition of The Legal 500.

Julia Splavska

Publicity & Social Media: Co Chair

Founder of a LinkedIn personal branding agency Intelligence & Influence.  Employment Lawyer. Julia helps professionals and organisations build a powerful presence on LinkedIn that drive visibility, authority, and opportunity.

As the founder of Intelligence & Influence, she works with individual leaders who want to strengthen their professional reputation and attract new opportunities – and with corporate teams that aim to develop strong LinkedIn strategies, employee advocacy, and consistent brand communication.

Jessica Farnsworth

Publicity & Social Media: Co Chair

Recently graduated with a master’s in law following her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Durham University.

Currently working as a Paralegal/ Document Reviewer and working towards progressing her legal career to qualify as a solicitor. A member of WHLS for three years, a member of the Junior Lawyers Division, and co-chair of the publicity and social media committee.  In her free time, she enjoys volunteering and exploring different areas of London!
